Insurance coverage
Does my insurance cover my windshield replacement?
In most cases, yes. If your policy includes glass-breakage coverage (present in full insurance and often in basic+), the replacement is covered with no or reduced deductible. We check your contract for free.
Do I need to pay upfront for the replacement?
No. GlassAuto + bills your insurance directly. You don't pay anything upfront. We handle the full admin process for you.
What is the glass-breakage deductible?
The deductible is the amount left to your charge after the insurance pays. At GlassAuto +, we can cover this deductible fully under our exclusive offer, depending on your contract.
Which insurers do you accept?
We work with every major French insurer: Maif, Macif, AXA, Groupama, Allianz, GMF, AG2R, MAAF, April, Direct Assurance, and many more. Contact us to check compatibility with your insurer.

How does the gift offer work with a windshield replacement?
For any windshield replacement covered by your insurance, you choose your gift from our selection: €500 instant bank transfer, a PlayStation®5 1 TB console, a Nintendo Switch 2, or full deductible coverage. It's our way of thanking you for your trust.
Which gifts are available?
You can choose between: €500 transferred to your bank account, a PlayStation®5 Slim 1 TB console (with DualSense controller), a Nintendo Switch 2 (with Joy-Con), or a fully covered deductible. You choose when filling out the form.
Are there conditions to receive the gift?
The offer applies to any windshield replacement covered by your glass-breakage insurance. No other particular condition is required. The offer is subject to availability and may evolve.
When will I receive my gift or transfer?
The gift or transfer is processed quickly after the service. For the transfer, it lands directly in your bank account. For the consoles, they are shipped to the address of your choice.
Special cases (leasing, EVs, panoramic roof, low-emission stickers…)
I have a leased car (LOA/LLD), how does the windshield replacement work?
Good news: it's your glass-breakage insurance that applies, not the leasing company's. You don't need authorisation from the lessor to repair or replace. Important: an unrepaired chip will be billed to you when you return the vehicle, sometimes €600 to €1,500 depending on the manufacturer. The reflex is simple: get it done now, it costs you nothing and avoids a nasty surprise in 2 years.
How long after the replacement can I drive again?
It mostly depends on the temperature. The polyurethane glue we use needs heat and humidity to reach optimal strength. In summer at 20-25°C, 1 hour is enough. In winter, in cold weather (5°C or below), expect 3 or 4 hours. During the first 24 hours: don't slam the doors (overpressure can unstick the seal), leave the windows slightly open, avoid motorways. And no pressure washer for 48h.
Does my electric vehicle need a special service?
Yes, and it's a real specificity. On an EV, the high-voltage circuit must be disconnected before service for the technician's safety. Many recent EVs also have a heated windshield (built-in conductive layers): a compatible glass is required, more expensive but fully covered by your insurance. And ADAS calibration is even more demanding because Teslas, Renault Mégane E-Tech, Peugeot e-3008 have very sensitive driver-assistance systems. Our technicians are trained on all EV types.
My panoramic roof is broken, am I covered by insurance?
Here it gets more subtle. Glass-breakage coverage doesn't always include the panoramic roof: it depends on your contract. Some insurers include it automatically, others ask for a specific option, others require the all-risk coverage to apply (with higher deductible). The cause of damage matters too: an object falling from the sky isn't treated like vandalism. What happens to my Crit'Air sticker after the windshield replacement?
The question everyone forgets. Bad news: the Crit'Air sticker can't be recovered. Once removed (necessarily when the old windshield comes off), it's unusable. Good news: order a new one on the official site certificat-air.gouv.fr, it costs about €3.72 and you get it within 10 to 15 days by mail. In the meantime, keep your old certificate (the PDF you got by email on first purchase) in case of a check in a low-emission zone: it's valid. Same thing for resident parking stickers: notify your town hall for a duplicate.

Do you come to me or do I need to travel?
We have 142 mobile centres across France. Our technicians come directly to your home, your workplace or anywhere you want, at a time that suits you.
How long does a windshield replacement take?
A replacement service takes on average between 1h and 2h. After installation, it is recommended not to drive for 1 hour so the bonding cures properly.
Do you operate everywhere in France?
Yes, thanks to our 142 mobile centres, we cover the whole French territory. Cities, rural and suburban areas: our technicians come to you.
Quality and warranties
What warranties do you offer on the windshield replacement?
All our replacements come with a lifetime warranty against installation defects. We exclusively use windshields of OEM-equivalent quality, compliant with European standards (ECE R43).
Do you use original manufacturer windshields?
We use certified windshields of OEM-equivalent quality (OEM or OE). These glasses comply with manufacturer standards and your insurance's requirements.
Will my driver assistance (camera, ADAS sensors) be recalibrated?
Yes. If your vehicle has an ADAS system (reversing camera, lane detection, etc.) integrated into the windshield, we recalibrate it after the replacement to ensure these safety systems work properly.

What information do you need for a request?
